In beautiful Monmouthshire in south-east Wales, we have five pitches available for camping in our 9 acre field for weekends between May and August 2017. It's perfect for a group of friends and/or family to get together so you can have the field to yourselves. Enjoy the fantastic views and sunsets towards the Brecon Beacons around the campfire.
We have an 'Honesty Box' for things like eggs from our chickens (WHEN THEY CHOOSE TO LAY!) AND dried/seasoned firewood at £5.00 a BASKET. YOU'RE WELCOME TO collect your own kindling from our small, SOMEWHAT overgrown woodland and have a paddle in the stream while you're at it. The facilities are basic - a 'Portaloo', a tap and bowl and an outdoor shower - it's definitely not 'glamping'. Children are welcome to say hello to our FOUR sheep, chickens, ducks AND tHREE dogs - HARRY, ARCHIE AND FLOSS.
Our local pub, The Star Inn*, is a few minutes walk over the stile and across the road from our field and has a beer garden and a play area for children and offers a children's menu.
There's lots to do locally and further afield - WE CAN LEND YOU guidebooks and maps.
We charge £20.00 a night for a pitch - NOTHING EXTRA FOR CHILDREN. To book all five pitches for two nights we would charge £200.00. We welcome well-behaved dogs but we have to be mindful of other campers' wishes so please mention your pet(s) when booking so we can check if it's okay.
*“Songs of The Star” is a local community project set up to collect and publish some of the many songs sung at The Star during Alan and Liz Evans’s ownership of the pub from the 1970s to the early 2000s! click HERE AND YOU CAN VIEW A COPY OF THE SONGBOOK .
